Civil TAC

If you purchased an IWA International TLSFX 3rd Generation product from Civil TAC, use this page to review the instructions and key safety notes. Read fully before handling.

Safety First

  • Read and understand these instructions and the SDS (Safety Data Sheet).
  • PPE required: ear protection, hand protection, eye protection.
  • NO SMOKING during handling and use.

Quick Steps

Step 1

Grip the unit firmly with the fly-off lever (“spoon”) against the web of your hand.

Do NOT retain the lever with your fingers (even if it feels natural).

Step 2

While still gripping the unit, twist the ring forward (anti-clockwise) to disengage the safety catch.

Then twist the ring back again so the catch clears the top of the lever.

Step 3

Keep hold of the unit and pull the pin fully out.

The unit is now live. Do not attempt to re-insert the pin into a live unit.

Step 4

Deploy by releasing your grip while dropping the unit a safe distance away (5m).

Retire immediately. The unit will function after approximately 3–4 seconds.

If the unit does not function

  • Do NOT return to it for 30 minutes.
  • Do NOT attempt to re-arm.
  • Never “cook off” the unit by releasing the lever while still holding the unit.

Storage & Additional Notes

  • Follow SDS safety information and product specifications.
  • Do not hang the unit from webbing, etc., by the safety pin.
  • Store in a cool, dry place.
  • Shelf life is 2 years from date of manufacture.
  • Not to be sold to or used by persons under 18 years of age.
